Hi friends!
This is a very sentimental post for me.
I’ve had this pop up card for 10 years. Unopened and unwritten.
I bought it at Comic Con in 2014 with one thought in mind: ‘This is the card I want to be given when I publish.’
Even though I did publish in 2014, that card remained untouched, stored in a keepsake box for that ‘magical moment’.
Nine years later, I re-published that same book after a huge re-write. Still the card remained stored away.
Last week I suddenly felt the ‘zing’ moment after touching the card, that was when I knew THIS was the moment that card would be given to me…by me.
A simple card to my past, present and future self to commemorate the day I was most proud of my journey and accomplishments. Also, a reminder to never give up even though the journey may seem impossible, pointless, tiring, or challenging…the endgame feeling makes it all worthwhile.
